JIKC Manoa is a keiki karate program for ages 5-14, held at Manoa Elementary School on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Classes are all-levels and cover basic techniques, kata, and sparring, with an emphasis on courtesy, effort, patience, and self-control. No prior karate experience is needed, and beginners are welcome. New students receive a free karate uniform, and families can ask about a free introductory lesson before enrolling. The program is part of the Japan International Karate Center, which has taught traditional karate in Hawaii for over 60 years.
