By visiting or using hawaiiparents.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Site means you accept the current version.
2. What Hawaii Parents Is (and Is Not)
Hawaii Parents is a free, informational online directory and guide to children’s (“keiki”) activities, sports, classes, camps, and programs on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Our goal is simply to help parents and caregivers discover local programs and contact the providers who run them.
Hawaii Parents is a small, independent local resource. We are not a government agency, a nonprofit organization, or a licensing body, and we are not affiliated with hawaiiparents.org or any similarly named organization.
We do not vet, screen, endorse, recommend, certify, employ, supervise, or guarantee any program or provider listed on the Site. A listing on Hawaii Parents is not an endorsement or a promise of quality, safety, or suitability. It simply means information about that program has been compiled here so you can learn about it and reach out directly.
3. Listing Information May Be Incomplete or Out of Date
Listings are compiled from publicly available information and from details submitted by providers. Program information changes often, and we cannot guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, current, or error-free.
Before enrolling your child or relying on any listing, you must verify all important details directly with the provider, including but not limited to:
- Pricing, fees, and payment terms
- Schedules, dates, locations, and availability
- Ages served and program requirements
- Safety practices, supervision, and health policies
- Staff qualifications, credentials, and background checks
- Licensing, insurance, and any required certifications
4. Interactions and Transactions Are Between You and the Provider
Any communication, enrollment, registration, payment, or other transaction happens directly between you and the provider. Hawaii Parents is not a party to those interactions and is not responsible or liable for them in any way.
You are solely responsible for evaluating whether a program is appropriate, safe, and suitable for your child, and for supervising your family’s participation. Any decision you make based on information found on the Site is made at your own discretion and risk.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Site or its content for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
- Copy, scrape, harvest, or systematically collect listings or data for commercial use or to build a competing directory without our permission;
- Submit false, misleading, or spam information through the contact form;
- Attempt to disrupt, damage, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; or
- Use the Site to harass, threaten, or harm any person or provider.
6. Intellectual Property
The design, layout, text, and other original content created for the Site are owned by Hawaii Parents or used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and share the Site for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce or republish our original content without permission.
Program names, logos, images, trademarks, and other provider materials belong to their respective owners. They appear on the Site for informational and identification purposes only, and their appearance does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.
7. Third-Party Links
The Site may include links to provider websites and other third-party sites. We provide these links for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or safety of any third-party site. Visiting a linked site is at your own risk, and any dealings you have there are subject to that site’s own terms and policies.
8. Correcting or Removing a Listing
We want listings to be as accurate as possible. If you are a provider (or a member of the public) and you would like a listing corrected or removed, please reach out through the contact form on the Site. We will review reasonable requests and update or remove listings at our discretion.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all information on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hawaii Parents disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any listing or provider will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hawaii Parents and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss or injury, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your reliance on any listing, or your interactions or dealings with any provider. This includes, without limitation, any harm relating to a program’s quality, safety, conduct, or suitability for your child. You use the Site and contact providers at your own risk.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the Site. Changes take effect when posted. Please check back periodically. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hawaii.
