Hanai Hives is a North Shore Oahu apiary offering private, family-friendly honey bee farm tours. After a mini beekeeping lesson, guests zip into provided bee suits and open a working hive to see honeycomb, pollen, and brood up close, then finish with a honey tasting. Each tour runs about 1.5 hours and is a private experience tailored to the ages and comfort levels of the group, including gentle, interactive introductions designed for young children, which makes it a popular pick for family outings and homeschool learning. The farm is home to more than 100 beehives with over 100 types of fruit trees on the property, and also runs a Host-a-Hive program for families who want to keep a supported hive at home.
