Beyond weekly storytime, the Waimanalo library runs a rotating calendar of free keiki and family programs sponsored by the Friends of Waimanalo Library. Recent examples include make-and-take craft sessions, a family movie night, a Hawaiian plants and taste-test program, and an outdoor teddy bear picnic storytime. Some craft programs require sign-up at the desk or by phone, and materials are provided. The branch is also one of a handful in the state that lends ukulele the way it lends books.
