Kau Wela Lealea is Hui Malama O Ke Kai’s free four-week summer program for haumana entering 5th through 8th grade, and unlike the school-year programs it is open to keiki from across the island. Days run 8am to 2pm Monday through Friday with lessons built around Hawaiian cultural learning, reading, math and physical activity. Past summers have included huakai to places such as Pahonu, Paepae O Heeia and Kakoo Oiwi.
