This 27-acre City botanical garden sits in a forested ravine off California Avenue and is free to walk through any day of the year except Christmas and New Year’s Day. Families can pick up a self-guided tour map to spot native Hawaiian plants, tree ferns, and the aroid collection, and school or youth groups can book a guided tour by phone. In summer the garden hosts free Friday evening Twilight Concerts where keiki are welcome and outside food, chairs, and blankets are allowed.
